Business Case
In this case, the client required programming and Crystal reports development performed on its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
New York State Procurement (NYSPro) recognizes that as advancements in technology continue to grow at a rapid pace, the need to hire hourly-based information technology staff is essential to an agency’s success and that the hiring of hourly staff is and has been an ever-increasing challenge for State and Local governments.
This project required the consultant to conduct analysis interviews with the users to understand what currently existed and what was needed.
The Solution
CMA responded to this opportunity through the competitive New York State Procurement Hourly Based Information Technology Services Contract.
CMA put forth a Senior Programmer, Crystal Reports Developer, and Requirements/Business/System Analyst with more than twenty years of expertise.
Our consultant was successfully evaluated, technically screened, and determined to be the most cost-effective solution of 20 Vendors supporting NYSPro needs.
The Results
CMA’s consultant provided trust, integrity, and experience to the project.
The consultant gathered and documented functional and technical requirements and created mock reports to be reviewed by the business. Once the requirements and report designs were approved by the user, the consultant developed complex Crystal Reports based on Oracle data, developed and updated test cases/scripts in Quality Center and performed system testing using Quality Center, created User Acceptance Test plans and coordinated User Acceptance testing.
The consultant also provided knowledge transfer to NYS staff to implement and support technical solutions. Collaboration with Information Technology Services staff, Forensic Lab staff and the LIMS vendor was also required. The consultant participated in status review meetings and provided weekly reports.
